What is the the difference between Blind size and recess size?

Blind Size will be made to precisely the measurements you entered onto the site. So if you want the blind to go on the outside of your window this is the type of measurement you should give us.

Recess Size is the measurement needed for a blind that you would like to fit within the recess of your window. We make reductions to the blind to ensure that it will fit perfectly within your window. Back to Questions

What deductions do you make off each blind type and why does this vary depending on the blind type?

We make all the necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit. This usually means we'll deduct approximately 12mm from the width of your blind, depending on blind type.

  • With Roller blinds, we also have to allow for fittings at either end of the blind as there is no headrail. This means the actual fabric is approximately 28mm less for an exact measurement and 31mm less for a recess measurement.
  • With Vertical blinds we make a deduction off the drop of the louvers, this is to ensure that they hang freely and aren't going to get caught on the window cill or flooring.

For more information, go to the How to measure instructions. Back to Questions

Can I cut down the Ready-made blinds myself?

No because of the excellent quality headrails used on all our blinds, we don't recommend cutting the Blind yourself. Most of our blinds are made to measure and will fit you requirements exactly. Back to Questions

What is the co-ordinated braid on Roller blinds?

The coordinated braid is a decorative trim that is put on the bottom of the blinds to complete the finish. This looks particularly good on the scalloped bottom of the blinds. Back to Questions

Can you make a blind out of my own fabric?

Unfortunately no. All of our fabrics are chosen as they are very high quality. All fabrics Have been tested in a laboratory to ensure that they will perform corectly and last for years to come. Back to Questions

How do I measure blinds for a bay window?

We recommend that you start by ordering the largest Central blind first. Once this is fitted, you can measure up for the remaining blinds using the edge of the headrail or brackets as the staring point. Our customers find that this is the most effective way of getting a great fit around a bay window - it prevents any gaps or overlapping. Back to Questions

The louvres of my Vertical blinds won't rotate. Have I done something wrong?

This sometimes happens if the louvres were originally hung onto the headrail whilst the hooks were in the closed position. You need to take the louvres off the headrail and then turn the chain round until the hooks are in the open position. This means that when you rehang the louvres, you'll be able to see through them and out of your window. Your louvres should now rotate without any problems. Please refer to the How to Fit Page. The louvres of my Vertical blind are not in line with each other. What should I do?

This is easily rectified. Pull the control chain until most of the slats are in the closed position, then gently pull the chain more in the same direction until the slats are all closed. You may need to try doing this both ways. Don't worry if you hear a clicking noise, that's perfectly normal. Back to Questions
